N. Karen Thames

Dr. Karen is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with almost 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. She has an eclectic approach to therapy, with a psychodynamic conceptualization of her clients, using different methods in therapy including insight-oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and feminist relational therapy. She sees each client as an individual with unique needs that require a customized, unique, and client-centered approach. Dr. Karen is the Founder and Executive Director of The EPIC Foundation, a 501C3 non-profit organization that supports patients and families affected by invisible chronic illnesses. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, she also continues to conduct professional webinars, provide Clinical consultation to other clinicians, and conduct therapy. Dr. Karen is the Chair of the DEI committee at The Juniper Center, a private practice with 7 practice locations, and has expertise in cultural competency. Additionally, Dr. Karen is the President of the Executive Board of Directors of The Juniper Center’s non-profit arm, Bridging the Gap Collective. Dr. Karen believes that Together, we are EPIC!
