What You will Learn

This is the first part of a 2-part training and will teach the subtypes and definitions of gender-based violence, as well as touch on the intersectionality of race and gender through a GBV lens. Educate your staff on the history and types of gender-based violence (GBV) such as domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking. Learn how to respond to disclosures of GBV with a trauma-informed approach and identify resources in your community.

  • Participants will be able to define the term gender-based violence (GBV) and identify the different forms of gender-based violence.

  • Participants will understand the history of GBV and how marginalized groups are impacted.

  • Participants will learn to support survivors/victims in effective, trauma-informed ways.

  • Participants will become familiar with recommended GBV-related resources and referrals.
